Everyone knows that if you “eat right and exercise” you will lose weight. The problem is when most people try to lose weight they go on a “diet” and for most people “diet” equals drastically reducing caloric intake. If you are in the habit of eating multiple fast food meals consisting of greasy cheeseburgers and french fries, you may have to cut some calories but you certainly do not want to starve yourself. For most people eating right means eating things like fruits, vegetables, lean meats etc. and yes, all of these are healthy food options but you also need to eat strategically. To get skinny quick you’ll have to increase your metabolism. Eating healthy foods is great but the timing is also important and that is what I mean by eating strategically. Rather than having two or three big meals per day it’s better to eat a small meal every two or three hours. Eating smaller meals and eating them more often will increase your metabolism so that you’re burning more calories 24 hours per day. Spacing out your meals like this will also help to keep you from feeling hungry all the time because as soon as you get hungry it’s time for another meal.
Another great way to increase your metabolism is to do some resistance training. Some people like to walk for exercise which is fantastic but if you want to increase your metabolism to burn as many calories as possible you need to do a little bit of weight training. Building lean muscle mass will help you burn more calories all day long, even while you’re sleeping. You don’t have to become a bodybuilder, even light weight training will increase your lean muscle mass and rev up your metabolism.
Losing weight is simple. It may not be easy because you will have to make some changes and there is work involved but it is not complicated. Eat healthier foods, eat smaller meals more often, and do a bit of resistance training and you will drop those unwanted pounds sooner than you think.
